Important Basics
Our Printers - SBA uses the Dremel 3D40 printers.
Filament (build material) - all 3D printers take a specific make of filament. Ours uses 1.75 mm Dremel brand filament and each spool is about $28. Found on Amazon
Build Surface - There is a tray that each print is made on. These can be removed, normally to pry the project off (we use painters tape to protect the build surface and the printed projects)
How to Print - There are mainly 3 ways to print
Dremel’s site allows you to print and monitor. Essentially, each person can upload their print projects and submit them to be printed in a queue
USB Drives come with each printer. Projects can be written to the USB (must use the .g3drem file format) and then plugged in the front of the printer. Use the touch screen to launch the print job.
Printer Resident - Print jobs can be stored on the printer itself. Normally this would be used for high volume or regular printing jobs.
Print Quality Troubleshooting Guide - a list of what different printing issues look like and how to identify them.
