Active Directory Accounts:
This account is necessary to log in to:
SBA computers - classroom desktops, library computers and computer labs
SBA Workroom printers - New - Credentials for workroom copy machines will be added to AD; this code will generally correspond to last 4 digits of your SS# or last 4 digits of your cell phone number
Access to WiFi network - SSID
Staff - use SBA-Staff
Teachers - use SBA-Teachers
Username - typically first initial then last name (jsmith for John Smith)
Password - Initially set as "SBATeach!" but needs to be changed on first login
How to change your AD password:
If you know your current password:
Open System Preferences. This may already be in your dock as a gray box with gears in it. If it is NOT in your dock, go to Applications, and it will be there
Click on Users & Groups. This will bring up details on users and options. At the top right, the “Password” option should be highlighted (next to “Login Items”)
Click Change Password box
Enter your existing Password
Enter NEW password--twice to confirm (Use SBA password policy as your guide)
Type in a password hint
Click the Change Password box at bottom
Close Users & Groups dialog box, which will also close the System Preferences
If you have forgotten your current password:
Contact Helpdesk (helpdesk@silverdaleba.org) and ask for a password change
Once you are contacted by Helpdesk with a temporary password, use this password to follow the procedure above
