Google Sites
Summary for Editing Sites Pages
If you have created Google Sites pages for yourself (Teacher Page or Class pages) or your Department (English, Math, etc.), they probably need to be edited, or even removed. Since moving to Atlas Rubicon, FACTS, and especially Google Classroom, SBA has reduced reliance on Google Sites as a student and parent communication tool.
A summary for editing or deleting Sites pages:
First, if you have editing rights for Sites pages, it is best to go to those pages through the Sites App in the “Box Cube” apps menu at the top right of your open Chrome browser. This way, you are assured of being properly logged in to edit. (If you go into Sites pages by clicking through from silverdaleba.org, you may find that the editing tools are not available.)
If you do NOT have the Sites app in the Box cube, you can type sites.google.com into a new Google tab as long as you are signed into your Google account
For Editing, see the menu at the top right of your Sites page:
Click on the Pencil icon to bring up the Editing menu on the top left side of your page (It will have the name of your page):
The small document page with the + sign adds a new sub-page to the page you are working in
Do not forget to Save your work by clicking the Save button at the top right!
From here editing is similar to a Google doc. You can edit text in any area of your page, and use the Insert, Format, Table, Layout and Help buttons to customize many features.
To Delete a page no longer needed, click on the small gear in the original page edit menu
This action brings up a menu of options. About halfway down the list there is an option to Delete page.
Confirm the deletion if you are sure.
